Epic's high-end next-gen title will push visuals with Unreal Engine 4

Won't be formally announced for some time.

Epic may have stepped away from the Gears of War franchise, but the Unreal Engine house is by no means turning its back of state of the art video game development, founder Tim Sweeney has told Edge.
Sweeney confirmed that Epic is working on sandbox survival/base builder Fortnite and two other games. One is a mobile game, and the other a high-end next generation title some way from seeing the light of day.
"It's going to push next generation graphics as you'd always expect Epic to do," explained Sweeney.
Whilst Epic's in-house tentpole release may be years off, we'll see plenty of Unreal Engine 4 powered games as we move further into the new generation.
"There's a lot [of games] on the way and a large number of them haven't been announced," he said. "You'll see lots of triple-A stuff coming out over time."
However, Sweeney warns that the number of big budget titles appears to be dwindling.
"The industry's changing – this generation it seems like there are about a third of the number of triple-A titles in development across the industry as there was last time around – and each one seems to have about three times the budget of the previous generation. I think we're heading towards a future where triple-A is the minority," he concluded.
